For those of you who missed the fun,
Here's our pics from the Inn at Doe Run.
We had a great crowd, new ones at that
And a few spouses joined in the ole Baer Blast.
With twice fried cornbread and syrup to start,
I was wholly obsessed with this country food art.
A variety of dishes for our gathered troupe,
Mark being mystified by my simple order of tuna and soup.
And, the desserts were laden with ummmms and ahhhs,
But, alas, no chocolate cake, I merely watched.
Yet, I fondly recalled our days in Baer's kitchen . . .
If there was food on the table, it was yours for the gittin.
No, nothing has changed, I could clearly see,
No lack of indulgence, we all can still eat.
A beautiful drive to a rustic place,
Smiles and laughter on everyone's face.
So join us Tuesday, November 10 at one o'clock
As we journey to E'town to the Whistle Stop.
And, remember you can't enjoy if you're not there,
Near or far, come for fun and time to share.
