News from Shivley

Happy Belated Birthdays to Karen and Gaynell! Hope they were good ones.

We went to Montgomery AL for the weekend. Left Friday, came back Monday. Took Leila down to see her Dad and to pick up a water heater. He works for Rheem and we got the "friends and family" discount. Got into a little rain, but not much. The weather down there is great for mushrooms and that's what Dave is all about right now. Finding them, identifying them, eating them and drying them. He even got himself a dehydrator. He loves to cook.

Jim has put Linex on his computer instead of Windows. I may even like it. He has to get more RAM for my computer. It's sooo slow. He did a diagnosis on it and and I have very little RAM memory left.

The genealogy stuff has slowed down for a few days, but I'm sure I'll tear into it again real soon. I think we are going back to Missouri and Iowa to visit family (and see a quilt show) the end of Oct., so I want to have a lot of my work done or ready to show and get updates and corrections from those in the know. My cousin and I who share our maternal Great grandparents have been sharing pictures, stories and as much as we can. One works on one thing and the other something else, then we trade what we have. It's working so far.

Thanks to all of you who are looking through your fabric stashes for the country blue pin dot that was so popular in the 80"s. If any of you have some, send me a tiny swatch to confirm the color. I only need a 10" to 12" square to mend a broken quilt.

That's my update for now. Babs
