All is well

Jim made it through his operation very well. Can't say enough about the staff at Suburban. They kept me posted every step of the way. Even got a cell phone call from the surgical nurse as they were bringing him to recovery. Lot's of competition out there and they have to keep their customers happy and satisfied. Sound familiar? Doc said his gallbladder was a "shriveled up mess". He seems to be back on track and getting stronger every day. Today we are going out for just a little while. Don't think he's up to a whole lot just yet.

Bonnie, I too was disappointed with the quilts. But I had no problem with the ribbon winners. It's just such a tough area to enter. I only entered because I just happened to have a quilt ready. I felt sorry for the people whose entries were folded up and put in a glass case. Sure couldn't tell what they were. You think they could do a better job of display with all the expansion out there. The good thing to entering is that you can buy a book of 11 cheap fair tickets, actually 2 books. I'll enter at least one item next year, just for the tickets.

Well, it's time to go pick tomatoes. My gardener is on strike for 2 weeks, so I'm having to pick up the slack. Tote that barge and all that stuff. Looks like I'm even going to have to do laundry. What has the world come too. He's done the laundry every since he retired. I'm so spoiled!

Mark, I did laugh my head off. After I finished reading it I wondered if I dared to send it to my cousin. Her husband is a retired Highway Patrolman. Do you think he would think it was funny?
I'm thinking I should let this one pass.

By the way, this genealogy stuff is addictive. I've got one line of the family (not confirmed yet) back to the 1500's. Does anyone out there care? Getting all this organized is the trick. And it's keeping me out of the stores. Easy way to save money.

  1. I have 8 tickets left. Didn't enjoy the fair enough to bother entering anything ever again. Cost to much for nothing.
